So Betty was bought one April evening during a BBQ at our house. We had been talking for sometime that we wanted to buy a caravan with Grampys money.
We wanted something retro so we looked at Campers which were a lot of money, then we looked at Eribas which were more modern cool and at the same time I kept my eyes peeled on ebay.
I saw her listed up in Leicester and fell in love with the shutters and the inside! The bidding ended on a Friday night and so with a group of friends round we set a limit and went about bidding.
As bidding didn't end until 10.30pm we had the courage of a few beers in our tummies and so we all had a bet on the blackboard what it would go for! It was a lot of fun watching those last seconds tick away and then there it was ... Congratulations. You are the highest bidder.... "gulp".
It was funny waking up the next morning and lying next to each other not saying anything for a while until I said..." so we bought a caravan!"
Luckily for us she was a gem, Stuart and his family who we bought her from were great and had looked after her perfectly !
For a 1970 van she is immaculate on the inside.Let the make over begin!!
